Dr Tonya McKoy

Dr. Tonya McKoy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Grief Coach.  She specializes in assisting Black, African American, and Women of Color move forward from grief and loss while maintaining work, family, and other life demands. While grief is associated with loss and it is not only affiliated with death, it encompasses relationships, health, financial, and career losses. These losses, when unaddressed can result in a person feeling immobile, indecisive, inadequate, imprisoned, and disconnected.

Dr. McKoy recognizes the significance of acknowledging losses and progressing onward. She has experienced multiple losses, both personally and professionally. These losses have included relationship terminations, job layoffs, stereotype threat, macro and microaggressions, being a trailblazer in corporate America, experiencing the Strong Black Woman and Superwoman Stress Syndromes, health-related issues, and the grief no one wants to ever experience, the death of a child. From these experiences, Dr. McKoy has gained understanding of the importance of balancing grief-related issues while working in high performing career fields while pursing physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
